The spreadsheet was never going to scale with you.

FreezeDry HQ turns batch logs, yield math and cost per gram into one working system, built by someone who was running the dryers before they wrote a line of code.

WHY THIS EXISTS

Built at the dryer, not in a boardroom.

FreezeDry HQ didn't start as a product idea. It started as a workbook. One tab per batch, then one tab per machine, then a "master" tab that tried to hold all of it together and mostly held together with formulas nobody wanted to touch.

Running a few Harvest Right units at once, the real problem was never the freeze-drying. It was knowing, at a glance, which batch was in which machine, which products in a mixed run actually yielded and which quietly didn't, and what a finished gram had cost once shrink, prep time and power were all counted. That last number is the one every pricing decision rests on, and a workbook is where it goes to die.

A spreadsheet can do that for one machine. It starts to break the moment a second dryer, a second product on the same tray rack, or a second person needs to look at it. So the workbook got rebuilt as software: the same numbers a freeze-dry operator actually tracks, structured so they don't fall apart as the operation grows.

WHAT IT TRACKS

Everything that used to live across four tabs, in one place.

This is the detail we'd normally save for after signup, laid out here because it's easier to decide whether a tool fits your operation when you can see exactly what it does. Everything on this page is built and working today.

Batches & machines

Know what's in every dryer, and how long it really took.

Every run is logged against the machine running it and the prep sheet that filled it, so a fleet of dryers reads like one schedule instead of one spreadsheet per unit. The clock starts when you start the batch and stops when you finish it, so run time is measured rather than remembered.

  • Prep sheets that carry each tray's product, weight, tare and lot code
  • Measured run time per batch, per machine
  • Weigh-in check-ins that tell you when a run has actually stopped losing water
  • Print a prep sheet for the bench, or work from your phone at the dryer

Yield, per product

A mixed run stops averaging away the answer.

Three mushroom varieties across seven trays is an ordinary week, and a single run-level yield figure averages products that behave nothing alike. Oyster at 17% and lions mane at 10% reports as 12%, and neither number is true of anything. FreezeDry HQ splits yield by product within the run, because every input for the split is already on the tray.

  • Wet weight in, dry weight out, per product, not just per batch
  • Tray tare and mats subtracted so the yield is of food, not hardware
  • Grams or ounces, whichever your process already speaks

Cost per gram

What a finished gram costs, from the numbers you already have.

Cost per gram is built from three things you record once: what the raw product cost, the prep time at your own labour rate, and the power the machine drew across the actual run, from its wattage and your electricity price. It updates as the run does. No formula to drag down a column.

  • Raw product cost carried per tray, so a mixed run stays honest
  • Prep labour at your rate, from the prep time you logged
  • Energy from machine wattage, your cost per kWh and the measured run hours
  • CSV export of costs and yields PRO

Community benchmarks

See what a run should look like before you start it PRO

Completed runs contribute anonymised yield and time figures to a shared benchmark, so you can see what other operators get for a product before you commit a machine to it. If bananas come off in 32 hours and strawberries take 36, that is a scheduling decision you can now make with a number instead of a hunch.

  • Typical yield and run time by product, across real operators
  • A group only appears once enough separate workspaces are in it
  • Never your costs, never your prices, never anything that identifies you
  • Owners and admins can opt the workspace out entirely in Settings

Built for a real shed

Bad wifi, wet hands, and more than one person.

Freeze dryers don't live next to the router. Records you enter without a signal are held and sync when you come back, and the long forms save themselves as you type, so a dropped connection or a closed tab doesn't cost you a prep sheet.

  • Capture works offline, syncs when the connection returns
  • Roles: owners, admins, staff who record runs but can't delete them, and read-only viewers
  • Deleting hides a record; an owner or admin restores it from Settings
  • Nightly encrypted backups to separate infrastructure, kept 90 days

WHO IT'S FOR

The same system, whether it's one dryer or a fleet.

Most tools either assume you're a hobbyist or assume you already have a warehouse. This one is built to grow with an operation from a kitchen counter to a real production floor, without a re-platform in between.

  • 01 · GETTING STARTED

    One machine, real records

Log batches properly from day one. Cost per gram and yield tracked from the first bag, so pricing decisions are never a guess.

  • 02 · GROWING

    A few dryers, mixed runs

Several machines and several products on the same rack, with per-product yield and per-machine cost, so you can tell which combination is actually paying.

  • 03 · FULL OPERATION

A fleet, a team, real volume

Machines running around the clock and more than one person who needs the same numbers. Roles keep batch data consistent no matter who is logging it.
